Wow how times flies.

I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted anything.

Well - now the snow is really here. We probably have at least 6 inches in the pasture. It's powdery soft snow so it's really not good for snowmobiling. Todd and Lance - who are both off of work - Todd for 2 weeks - Lance until spring - are talking about making a quick run over to Murray ID to make sure the sleds are running ok. Lance has a new 03 sled he and Todd bought about a couple of months ago. He can't wait to get it out to play.

Christmas is about upon us - Todd and I are going to Missoula Tuesday to shop and pick up Blake for the week. I always say that I am going to be more prepared for Christmas - but it never happens.

We are going to go to Justin and Ronnie's Christmas day and stay through the weekend. Ronnie is very pregnant so we thought we'd spent the holiday with them. We'll have dinner at her mom and step dads. It will be alot of fun.

Well - I have baking I just decided to do so I better get going.

Have a Very Merry Christmas!!

There's snow in them thar hills.

Ok - so the guys were right (don't tell them that I said that). We woke up yesterday morning and there was snow in the higher mountains - Baldy in particular - it was just a dusting though and was gone by afternoon. Baldy is the first mountain to get snow and the last one to have it in late spring. In fact there is a shale rock outcropping that is in the shape of a heart and Todd's Dad always said that you don't want to plant the frost sensitive plants in your garden until the snow has melted out of the heart of Baldy. It's true - the only problem is that today there may not be any snow in the heart - but there could be tomorrow - or next week. So you are just safe waiting awhile. I can see Baldy out of the drive thru window at the bank - it's beautiful anytime of year. If you wanted to look at it now just sign on to www.kpax.com and click on the CAMERA tab and choose Plains Eyecam - it's pretty up to the minute. You can see the heart on the left. The road to my sister, Jacqi's, house goes by the white house there, up the draw and to the left. She lives about 4 miles up - along with my Mom and my niece Kristi and her family (all seperate houses).

Well that is about all the excitement for tonight - if you didn't notice I did get music onto my blog - thank you Lori.

Fall has arrived in Northwest Montana

And we are ready for it.

It's a cool rainy day today - but I love fall so I am enjoying the clean cool smell outside and being inside getting ready to make a peach pie (thank God this is the end of the peaches) and thinking of making a lasagna. I've got 1/2 of my cleaning done that I want to get done - hopefully I don't run out of ambition before I get finished - I hate that.

I've attached a picture of the ultra sound Justin sent me of Prestly. He is so excited! The next ultra sound that the doctor will do is a 4-D. He is a high risk pregnancy doctor and likes to check and re-check to make sure everything is going as it should.

Todd got a picture on his cell phone - his buddy Matt got a new snowmobile so he decided that he better go check it out. You know snow is coming soon - they have to be ready.

Well - this is short but I better get back to cleaning the house.

Family Ties

I've been navigating around in my blog since I decided to "get off of the road" - but have gotten stuck a lot. I see that my sister has found my blog so I'm going to put out the flag for help - so hopefully it gets better from here.

I had lunch with my oldest son, Justin, today. He was working on a few water systems up this way so he bought me lunch. He is pretty excited - he got to feel Prestly, the baby girl they are expecting in January, move Friday night. He is going to be a great Dad!

The picutre that (hopefully) is on here is of my niece, Kaylie, and my Grandson, Blake (who loves Kaylie). They are taking in the fair parade. When the parade was at a boring part Blake was loving on Kaylie.

Lance should be picking Blake up this weekend to bring him to visit Grandpa and Grandma. His first day of school was a week ago last Tuesday so I am excited to hear how he likes it. He is in head start in the morning. He'll get to go all day next year.

Well - I better close - it's getting late and for those of you who know us - we are early to bed.

You never have any fun if you just sit on the road and watch.

That's what I always say when we go snowmobiling - and it's true. You can always wish you would have gotten off the road and into that powder where no one has gone - but you can't ever go back in time and do it. So you just need to do it.

That is the way I feel about this blog. The first one I looked at was my niece Lori's - when she first started it. It was a great way to see how she was doing and how her family was growing. Then over the weekend I talked to Carrie, my nephew Robert's wife, she had started a blog - so I got her and Lori's blog addresses so I could go and and see the pictures of their families. When I got home I checked them out and thought what a great idea - but where would I start if I were to start a blog - my kids are all grown up now.

This morning I decided that with my blog I would share with everyone the Best Years of Our Lives. Todd and I had a lot of great times with our kids as they were growing up and now we are on the second leg of our journey - Grandkids, snowmobiling, horses and living so close to most our family. Although there are parts of our family that are far away - Alaska, Colorado, Idaho and Ohio (? I think that is where Lori is - she's hard to keep up with). Then there are all the friends that we left in Washington. What a great way to keep in touch.

So here goes - hopefully Todd and I can keep up with the page and keep our family and friends updated with The Best Years Of Our Lives.
